Leaning Cups

Ceramic Work

They sat in the corner of the cafe talking. One with their tea and one with their coffee. As the afternoon progressed and their affinity for each other increased, their cups moved closer and closer together.

I think the lean was a mistake. But then I liked the idea of cups leaning into each other. These cups combine texture and community. They were a collaboration. One person shaped and stamped the other carved and colored and somehow the cups became companions as well and leaned in towards each other.
